Why Tintypes?

Wedding days move quickly, moments blur, timelines rush forward, and before you know it, it’s over. Tintype photography offers something different: a chance to slow down and truly be present.

Using the historic wet plate collodion process, each image is created by hand in real time. The result is a one-of-a-kind photograph on metal, crafted in the very moment it captures. No duplicates. No filters. Just an honest, physical record of you, as authentically as possible. There’s a reason images made with this process over 175 years ago still exist today. Tintypes are built to last, not just digitally, but physically, becoming heirlooms that can be held, passed down, and experienced across generations.

But beyond longevity, tintypes offer something more meaningful: presence. The process itself invites stillness. It asks you to pause, breathe, and step fully into the moment together. That quiet intentionality is reflected in the final image: raw, intimate, and deeply personal.

In a world of instant photos and endless scrolling, tintypes stand apart. Each plate carries subtle imperfections, chemical variations, and unique character, making every image as individual as the people in it. My work is rooted in craft and curiosity. I’m constantly refining both technique and chemistry to create images that feel as powerful as they look, photographs with weight, texture, and permanence.

This isn’t just documentation. It’s a tangible piece of your story, crafted, in the moment, to last a lifetime.
